Summer is the perfect time for light and refreshing snacks, and these watermelon, mozzarella and prosciutto skewers are a great example of that. They are not only easy to make, but also a feast for the eyes and a taste explosion for your mouth. Ideal for parties or as a fun starter. The recipe is from Shanna van der Wal aka Just Gimme Fries, who else?!

Quantity: 8 skewers | preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 150 g watermelon
  • 8 small mozzarella balls (about 65 g in total)
  • 8 fresh basil leaves
  • 50g prosciutto
  • Black pepper to taste

Supplies

  • 8 short skewers

Preparation method

  1. Cut a thick, even slice from the watermelon.
  2. Cut the slice into cubes of approximately 5 cm.
  3. Divide the prosciutto into 8 equal pieces and thread them onto a skewer.
  4. Add a basil leaf, a mozzarella ball and a watermelon cube.
  5. Place the skewers on a serving plate and sprinkle with black pepper.

The combination of sweet watermelon, creamy mozzarella, savory prosciutto and fresh basil provides a delicious balance of flavors. Serve the cheerful skewers at your next party, at a nice barbecue and enjoy!
