Photography is your new feel-good hobby!

  • 2 min read

Photography is ideal if you are looking for a fun, accessible hobby. Because inspiration can be found in everything around you. A small flower that peeps between the tiles, your pet that muses at the rain-soaked windows, the yellow summer light that turns the garden gold… every moment is one to capture. With a purpose, any seemingly boring environment or situation becomes exciting!

Start your new hobby

If you have a good smartphone, your camera is always at hand. For those first photos, that's fine actually. If you take a brisk walk, you don't have to carry anything with you. If you suddenly see that fox jumping from behind a tree, it can be immortalized immediately!

But once you've got the photography bug, chances are you'll want more. An SLR camera is then a logical next step. This allows you to vary with different lenses and thus develop your own unique photography style.

Developing your own photography style

The search for your own personal style is very interesting. What subjects do you like to photograph? Do you prefer to turn on light and photograph objects or do you like to capture the capriciousness of nature? With your own style, also think of the effects that you can achieve with your camera, such as high key or low key photography.

What is high key photography?

In high key photography , the emphasis is on the white and light tones and that produces beautiful, soft images. The contrast is low, the image light and the atmosphere pure and pure. The ideal high key photo prefers no harsh colors or deep shadows.

What is low key photography?

Low key photography is the exact opposite of high key. Low key photos are those moody, dark photos where only the subject is carefully exposed. That is also possible with an SLR camera that you set manually.
