Everyone says it and secretly we all know it's true: happiness lies in the little things. But because of the big worries of everyday life, we sometimes no longer notice these little things at all. We are on autopilot in the car or on the bike on the way to work. Walking scrolling through our Instagram feed on the street. We prefer to turn over again when the alarm goes off in the morning.
We do a lot of things in everyday life without thinking about it, while there are a lot of moments of happiness hidden in them.
To wake
To wake up (literally and figuratively) again, I created the 'daily things happiness bingo'. With accompanying bingo card! Using this simple game, you will become alert again to all the beauty around you and give yourself some moments of happiness during your daily tasks.
This is it: the bingo card !
Full of (almost all free) things that I encounter every day and that make me intensely happy at that moment. Such as birdsong, the smell of fresh coffee in the morning or waking up to the sun's rays on your face.
As you can see, I have already filled in quite a few boxes with daily moments of happiness, but because not everyone is the same (fortunately!), a few boxes are still empty. You can fill in your personal moments of happiness here. Everything is allowed, as long as it makes you happy.
Okay, what then? You download the bingo card HERE
Print it out (tip: print it on colored paper for even more instant happiness) or save it on your smartphone. Fill it with daily things that make you happy (this can also be done in a photo-editing app on your phone if you prefer to keep the card digitally) and keep it nearby for a week. Every time a small moment of happiness comes along, cross off the relevant box on the bingo card.
This will bring you back to your positive thoughts in terms of happiness and allow yourself to pay attention to all the beauty that everyday life has to offer.
How quickly do you think you have checked off (almost) all the boxes? (Spoiler alert: that goes a lot faster than you think!) I'm curious!
