Winter is just around the corner, which means it’s time for warm blankets, hot chocolate, and cozy movie nights. And that’s great, but why not do something a little crazy this winter? Here are five unexpected and crazy activities to help you survive the long winter and brave the cold:
1 - Have a winter BBQ
Who says barbecuing is just for summer? Fire up the BBQ outside, put on your warmest clothes and enjoy grilled marshmallows, warm mulled wine and winter vibes. Drape a blanket over your legs and enjoy. We bet this will become a winter tradition?!
2 - Snowball fight... in the dark!
Okay, this is only possible if there is actually snow. But if there is, you can definitely do this. Wait until it is dark and organize a snowball fight with glow sticks and flashlights. It is hilarious, chaotic and above all a unique way to brighten up the winter evenings!
3 - Sit in an ice bath
This one is for the real daredevils: immerse yourself in an ice bath. It is said to be good for your blood circulation and you are guaranteed to get an energy boost. Of course, this is the most fun when you challenge your friends to join in. Time for a competition to see who can last the longest!
4 - Pretend it's summer
Isn't winter your favorite season either? Just pretend it's summer for a while! Grab a blanket, put on your favorite summer music, and pretend you're in the middle of summer. Make sandwiches, get some tropical drinks, and imagine yourself in a sunny garden, but in your own living room. The contrast with the winter cold outside makes for extra fun!
5 - Create an indoor scavenger hunt
Turn your home into a scavenger hunt! Write funny clues on sticky notes, have everyone search for 'hidden treasures' and come up with fun tasks to complete along the way. It's a great way to stay active without having to go out in the cold.
With these crazy ideas you can make sure that winter is anything but boring. Do you dare to try them all?
