No long horror waiting times at Schiphol, your house is always at hand, drive to wherever you want. Out into the wide world with the camper. How wonderful does that sound and is it as wonderful as it looks? I found out that Nienke (van Stipstijl ) is a real camper addict and asked her a number of questions. In addition, she came up with wonderful tips.
The camper love started with Nienke and her husband on the other side of the world, Australia to be precise. They then lived in their own house on wheels for 9 months, more like a van than a camper, and had the time of their lives.
After this special time, where Nienke was inspired by the stip art of the aboriginals, the motorhome life never let them go. Such an event makes an impression and when you have tasted real freedom, you want more. For a wedding in Portugal a camper was rented again and they were sure: we also need a camper.
Your own camper remained a wish
It had always been a dream to own a motorhome of their own, so they could go where the family wanted. That worked! They have now had their own mobile holiday home for about six years, which has been renovated with their own hands. It has become a cheerful car, where you can really see Nienke's touch. Fresh colors and dots (obviously) everywhere.
Kids and campers
The couple's two sons love to travel with them. They have both received the camping bug and are enjoying the holidays in Europe to the fullest. An advantage with children is that you have everything, but literally everything on the go. No lugging to your hotel with suitcases, no long queues at the airport and always a familiar place of your own.
If I ask for the best camper memory, it must be wild camping in northern Spain on a beautiful lake. It felt very free and the atmosphere was idyllic. When you see Nienke's photos, you know for sure that no word has been lied to.
Refurbishing a camper yourself
Does it also start to itch for you when you read and see this? Would you like to own your own motorhome? Then you can of course look for your own mobile home, just like Nienke. And do you find a good second-hand one? Then let yourself be inspired by Happy campers lifestyle blog Caravanity . You will find so much fun about camping there: recipes, purchasing tips, DIY ideas, beautiful camping spots, etc.
4 tips for nice camper spots
According to Nienke, a lot of energy goes into finding the best places. If you want to end up as idyllic as possible and don't want to be tucked away on a few tiles every time, preliminary research is recommended. Fortunately, there is plenty of information to be found on the internet. Some great tips from Nienke are:
