How do you keep your skin healthy? 3 tips

  • 3 min read

' I regularly hear the first signs of aging through commercials or in magazines. Leave out the word "first" because now that I'm nearly 40, the gray hairs seem to be appearing twice as fast and the wrinkles on my forehead and around my eyes are getting deeper and deeper.

Even though my environment says it's not that bad, I really see it. Or do I also need new glasses? Whatever it is, a little self-care never hurts. I found 3 tips to at least keep your skin as healthy as possible.

Tip 1 - Be careful with the sun

The sun is strongest between 12 noon and 3 p.m. Sensitive skin can burn after half an hour, but you will not notice this until hours later. Unprotected sunbathing causes burning of the skin in the short term and accelerated skin aging and skin cancer in the long term (source: RIVM ). So the simplest tip is: avoid the sun, stay in the shade, apply a high factor (factor 30) if you do expose yourself, wear a sun hat or cap. You get that portion of vitamin D if you've been in the sun for 15 minutes.

Tip 2 - Drink enough water

You've probably heard it before: at least eight glasses of water a day will keep your skin clear, keep pimples away and reduce wrinkles. According to a recent British study, it is still true. The female participants in the study were asked to drink one and a half liters of water every day and not make any other changes in their lifestyle. The results showed that women who drank water saw their wrinkles reduced by an average of 20 percent. Water containing salicin can reduce wrinkles by up to 24 percent. Dermatologists note that drinking water only works if the outer skin cells are in top condition and can therefore retain a lot of water (source: Nieuwsblad.be ). So also apply tips 1 and 3.

Tip 3 - Lubricate your skin healthy

I occasionally give my hair a color and I have recently started tackling my wrinkles with The Drops of Youth from The Body Shop and I like that! The name is promising, drops that make your skin younger. The bottle has a nice green color with a handy pipette. It is easy to use and the drops are nice and firm. 99% of the ingredients are of natural origin and it protects your skin from indoor and outdoor air pollution. If I have put two drops on my skin, I will be a bit happy, because will this really rejuvenate my skin? The drops absorb quickly and don't feel sticky which I really like. I use the drops both in the morning and in the evening before applying my day cream, and after a few weeks my wrinkles really seem a bit less. I hardly believe it, so I put on my glasses and it's really true. With these drops you will certainly make your skin happy. I myself now feel 40 minutes and I can face the summer radiant again. Great stuff that The Drops of Youth
